K. Turner Transitions is certified under the National Certification Board for Alzheimer Care by the NCBAC Board of Governors.  The “CRTS” designation is awarded to individuals who meet experience, education, exam, security and insurance requirements in the field of “Senior Relocation Services”.

After years of working closely with seniors and their families, witnessing the many daily challenges that face our aging population, Kathy Turner founded K. Turner Transitions. Through both personal and professional experience, Kathy recognized the great need for the services that K. Turner Transitions provides.

Kathy served as vice president and co-owner of retirement homes in Ottawa for many years. During that time, her beloved parents lived in one of her retirement homes affording her the opportunity to be with them daily, and to be a part of their lives in every way.  Witnessing and living the process of advancing years was a gift that helped to create the vision and define the dedication to Kathy’s profession of choice.

Kathy’s responsibilities included quality assurance of products and services, external relations with media, marketing, and advertising as well as working in conjunction with various levels of government. She worked closely with seniors and their families to introduce and tour them through her retirement homes while answering their questions and assuring that their needs would be met with dignity and a code of ethics supported by excellence.

During those years both she and her then partner introduced the first intergenerational retirement community in Ottawa, offering innovative programming to seniors and pre-schoolers on site.  Seeing the difference that this made in the lives of others was the beginning of a devotion and a passion for her present work.

Community involvement and giving back are an integral part of Kathy’s life. She has been a volunteer fundraiser in the health care sector for more than a decade, which she considers both an honour and a privilege. As an active and devoted campaign member of cabinet and presently a Director on the Queensway Carleton Hospital Board Foundation, Kathy was one of many who helped to achieve the successful thirty five million dollar “Care Grows West Campaign”.  She also volunteered on other philanthropic campaigns including the Bruyere Continuing Care program of the Elizabeth Bruyere, and the Saint Vincent Hospitals.

We are all “difference makers “ in our own way , and Kathy’s goal to make a difference in the lives of others is a practice that she follows with enthusiasm and pride.

K. Turner Transitions will facilitate a peaceful and happy lifestyle transition that will improve the quality of life for both seniors and their families.
